Previously we have talked about 2 new feature in Gmail Labs namely Sender Time zone and Inserting Image. This time Gmail Labs and Google Team has came up with more useful Features
- Automatic message Translation
- Importing Mails and contacts from other clients [Email accounts]
Here is a detailed review of the two new features included.
Now this is a really cool addon in Gmail Labs. Although we do not get much Emails in other languages but one thing we cant ignore is Spam Message. Hey, now dont shout at me! Previously we do included a complete post on avoiding Spams, but sometime we do feel like reading all those junks don’t we? May be just for having some fun, but lets take the full advantage of this Translation feature. Here is what we need to do in order to enable Automatic Message translation:
- Goto Setting from your Mail Inbox located at the top corner of the screen
- Navigate to the Labs tab
- Simply Enable the “Message Translation” and Click on Save change.
Voila! You are done. Now enjoy reading Emails of your foreign friends directly on Gmail inbox.
2. Import Mail and contacts from other accounts:
Now this is on of the most wanted feature from Gmail. Before Gmail we have had our mails in other clients like Yahoo, MSN, rediff etc. With the help of this feature we can now not only import contacts but also our old emails from 3rd party client to our own gmail as well. As usual Gmail Team has made this cool feature to be really simple in use. Here is what you need to do:
- Goto settings from your Gmail [as illustrated before]
- Click on the Account and Import Tab
- Click on Import Mails and contacts and follow the instructions.
Note that this feature has been introduced to every newly created Gmail Accounts and are being slowly implemented over old accounts. If you can not see the “Account and Import” Tab but can see only “Accounts” Tab then it means you have to wait a little bit more before getting this cool feature. Well I myself waiting for this!
If you have any problem activating the feature then do ask us through your comments. Also dont forget to share your experience with Gmail Labs. For a recommended list of useful Gmail Lab addons you can take a look at the previous post Here.
