G oogle chrome is very much known for its stable and most importantly fast browser interface. Previously we have seen Google promoting its product Chrome through various method. Anyways it is way out of the track from our current discussion in which we shall focus on the current release of Google Chrome. Previously many users has been using the beta release of Chrome in which many advanced features were included (along with some minor bug) but most of the users (like me) have eagerly been waiting for the final stable release of Google Chrome. Well good news for all of us! Chrome Team has finally released the Chrome 2 Beta into Stable channel making it official Google Chrome 2 ~ Stable version. - Improved New Tab page:
Now finally with the new Tab page you can remove the thumbnails you want. According to Chrome team this has been the most wanted feature from all users. Here is a screenshot explaining how to remove them. To know more you can visit the Google Help Forum - Full Screen Mode:
As the name suggests makes your browser use every last pixel of your screen. I have to admit that the full screen looks really AWESOME in wide-screen. Simply Hit F11 key to switch between Fullscreen mode. - Form Autofill: Similar to the Autofill feature of Google Toolbar. It automatically fills up your Web form saving your time.
Best improvements added:
- Stability: As Google Chrome team says they have fixed over 300 bugs in chrome 2.[wow! did you ever imagined that Chrome has that amount of bugs in it!!!!]. So as obvious the browser is much stable now
- Speed: Of course this is again one of the major update in Chrome. As always the main focus of Chrome has been SPEED of BROWSING. According to Danis Fisher (Google Chrome Team)
Thanks to a new version of WebKit and an update to our JavaScript engine, V8, interactive web pages will run even faster. We’ve also made sure that JavaScript keeps running fast even when you have lots of tabs open
So it clearly means with better Development Chrome team has finally managed to give us a better browser with better speed.
A challenge to its competitors?
Of course many of us have been eagerly waiting for the stable release of Chrome 2! Now with better performance and better speed of course chrome is going to hit heavy on its competitors like Mozilla, Safari, IE etc! But one thing chrome is surely lying behind from Mozilla is Addons. With thousands of Firefox Addons there is merely something which you can not do with Firefox [Of course I meant treating Firefox as browser]. So in that respect chrome has still a long way to go to ACTIVELY challenge its competitors!
